Mission

As activists and organizers, we often ask ourselves, "What would a world free of oppression look like?" We believe it is through art that we are able to even begin to imagine such possibilities.As awQward, we believe in a world where art is an act of service and all creatives are historians that are documenting our culture, movement and future. We believe in an arts practice in which we are able to care for ourselves and our community through fair wages and a redistribution of resources from institutions that have historically stolen from the Brilliance, Wealth, and Labor of Black & Brown bodies. We exist in opposition to transphobia & transmisogynoir. We exist in opposition to white supremacy. We exist in opposition to Islamophobia. We exist in opposition to anti-Blackness. We exist in opposition to ableism.
